Missing: One Sense of Humor

2004-05-03 & 5:13 p.m.

I think attempting to get into better shape is sucking out my sense of humor. Since I started working out more, I feel like I am not funny any more. I feel like my jokes are stalled. (You know, like all of Colin Quinn's jokes....) Maybe I am just out of my groove.

I have also been so busy lately with repetitive non-interesting bullshit that I have not even had time to stop and realize the funny things going on in the world anymore. When I wasn't focusing on getting myself into shape, I was able to be lazy and see the people all around and poke fun at every little idiosyncracy I noticed in them. Lately, I have been focusing so much time and effort on myself that I have not realized those things in other people anymore. Maybe it was an insecurity that caused me to do that. Who knows? But I feel like my sense of humor is affected by that. I may need to refocus on other things to "make fun of".

One more thing....if my trainer calls me a "thoroughbred" ONE MORE TIME, I am going to drop a free weight on his foot.
