Ahhh, my fellow QAFer. Even though I never write about it, I am 100% with you on the gay issue. I have been since the Matthew Shepard murder. Before that, I don't know, I didn't think being gay was a huge deal or against God or anything, but I'd make gay jokes and what not. It took that murder and quotes from people like Ellen Degeneres saying it was things like those same comments I made that led to things like Matthew Shepard. I like to think I've changed a lot since eigth grade, because I made me entry into the fag hag community long ago. I just think homophobia is the dumbest thing in the world. No matter how hard I stretch my mind, I can not come up with a single justification for it. And ya know what really pisses me off? When those ignorant fucks use the Bible. Okay, you wanna go down that road? The Bible also says people that work Saturdays or have premarital sex should be beheaded. Do they agree with that too? Do they think that should be a law? Just like the quote from the wonderful Teddy, the God I was raised with loves EVERYONE, and the idea He would punish a person for who he or she was attracted to is actually a little insulting. Anyways, I apologize for this being novel length, but this is an issue I feel strongly about. Just like you did with the entry, I'll end with a quote from a tv show that sums up how I feel. Its from Six Feet Under, and its at the funeral of a guy who was a victim of a hate crime. There are a bunch of protesters shouting as they're walking with the coffin, and one says "God hates faggots!" Nate, one of the lead characters on the show, replies with, "God hates morons."

oh, darling, i see such a future--a future of pot smoking, muscle-relaxer-taking and rum and coke drinking while watching queer as folk and laughing our heads off. i'm glad you said what you did regarding gay marriage. i'm so spent on this whole "defending myself" thing. right is right, wrong is wrong. inequality is wrong. plain and simple. it's really not more complex than that.
