The next day I drove home

2005-01-10 & 9:58 p.m.

Where do you go for the weekend when you don't have anything else to do? Drive to Eureka, California (of course pronounced CALLIE-FORN-EEYAH now at all times) of course. Spike and I were supposed to meet in Medford, OR for the weekend. But apparently we are in a Nino (excuse the lack of squiggly above the n Spanish thingamabob. I am not smart enough to know how to make my computer do that.) and in the year of the Nino there is excessive precipication. The passes were closed. There was no going through the Siskiyou and Sierra Mountains. So I drove across Oregon to Highway 101, which runs along the coast and met Spike in Eureka, CA which is in Humboldt area of CA.

We had a blast. We stayed in a Negative Star Hotel in Eureka. I won't say what type of hotel it was as to not bad mouth the establishment but it was one of 'dem with a number in the name. We ate pizza, we had some wine, and then some calls were made. Apparently we called people and quoted passages of The Book of Leviticus to some friends.

The next day I drove home.

I am like cray, huh?

Lyrics of the day:
"As I drive
from your pearly gates
I realize that I just can't stay
all those mountains
they kept you locked inside
and hid the truth
from my slighted eyes"
-Nashville by Amy Ray
